Hello. I´m wondering if the Fanatis Falcon 138 will be too big for me? I weight 74 kg and my sailsize is 7,8. Or is it going to be ok?
Hope for a quick answer.
//Elias
Hi Elias, the 138 is best with 8.4/9.0 sails. The 130 is best with 7.7/8.4 sails, is ideal for lighter riders, our lady or youth riders below 80kg really like that board, so go with the 130!
Thank you for the answer Craig. I´m planning too buy a used Falcon 138 from 2016. So if I go with bigger sail, the 138 should be okay then?
Hi Elias, the Falcon 138 will also work with a 7.7, but it is not the ideal size for the board, just a touch small. But normally for your weight, plus the 138, you should have plenty of power, unless sailing in winds often between 8-12knots...?
Thank you very much for the advice. It really helps! I usually sail between wind of 12-17 knots. Is that enough power to have the board planing?
hi there, yes, easy enough for your weight and 7.7 ,the 138 is a very good board for early planing. Put the mast track fairly far fwd, for pretty much most sailing - so that a gap of 1cm between front of track and your mast base round plate can be seen.
Hi Elias, I sail the 138 for a few years and even with a 7.7 m2 it sails very nice. Think the advise from Craig on the 130 is spot on for your weight but the 138 will do for sure. Sail this board with 7.8 up to 9.6 and the sweatspot is with a 8.6m2. As you asked in winds from 12 up to 17 knots this board for sure will bring a smile on your face. Have fun!
Thank you d35. Actually I am leaning towards the Fanatic Jag 135 at the moment. It seems to be more for me, because I´m Intermediate wind surfer. Think it will suits me better because it seems to easier to sail.
