Hi Fanatic team,
cold weather, Corona, traveling limited, so i just checked my equipment.
When I checked the footstraps of my grip 2020 I found that some were twisting although the screws were tightened (until I was not able to tighten them any more with a big size 3 Phillips screwdriver). So I checked the holes, screw-length a.s.o.
When checking the anti twist holes I found that on those twisting straps these were not punched. Some of the antitwist holes were filled with resin, so that the bootstrap counterpart could not enter the holes and provide the antitwist function. I cleared the area around the screw (appr. dia. 20mm) from the footpad material and opened the anti twist holes with a small slot screwdriver, . After retightening the straps the antitwist function was as it should be.
May be this is helpful for others using single screw footstraps?
And may be you can consider size and pad mounting process of footpads to prevent this topic?
One question remains: When checking the screw-length (27,5mm) and depth of the holes (18,5mm) it became obvious that some screws are touching the ground of the holes when fully tightened. Could you please tell the depth of the inserts, so how deep can I drill the holes without risking the entry of water into the shell?
All the best
Jörg
