Hi Mikael, for sure the Skate is very hard to beat in planing and acceleration. Plenty of our customers use them to play around in smaller waves too. But for carving manoeuvres and more wave oriented conditions/sailing, the FreeWave is also hard to beat, will not plane as early as the Skate obviously and will be harder to land the Freestyle moves you mention.
Skate 100 vs FW105 - Skate is the clear winner here in terms of planing, actually I don't think the FW 105 will be a huge amount better in the waves in this size, so long as it's really small waves and light winds. In the 92/95 sizes, they obviously both become more performance oriented and the differences in use become larger (Skate even more freestyle/FW even better in max wave use).
As you mention light wind waves, I would go for the Skate, as it will still turn fine in light winds and you obviously will not expect it to turn like a proper waveboard. If it is 20knots, waves and you want to carve into some turns, more difficult.
