Hi there,
Thanks for the brand loyalty already! So actually the new FreeWave shape works better on both flat water AND in the waves. Sounds like marketing BS, but the shape changes we did are easy to understand - the nose and tail widths have been reduced, this already helps a lot in the waves. With some rocker line and insert adjustments, even we were surprised how much better the new FW turns in the waves. And that was not even the main focus, which was to improve flat water performance/subjective planing feel and decrease the spin.outs that a few customers felt on the bigger sizes. For your weight, for sure the 95 is a great size and should not be a problem at Garda/way better in the waves in Portugal.
The Mamba is quite a bit more wave oriented, an updated version of your Stubby 82 range - so I don't think that is the best fit for Lake/Wave combo, especially a place like Garda with a lot of lighter thermic winds. And for stronger winds on the lakes you have the STB82 anyway.
