Hi there, the 130 is a newer shape yes, taking influence from the 140, it's quite a bit better for racing in fact, as it's designed for our lighter racers/ladies, where the 140 is just a bit too big.
Re the weight, yes unfortunately the foilbox does add a bit of weight, plus we have started to increase the weights we publish online, to have a bit more of a buffer due to tolerances. So it's not quite 0.5kg.
Foiling is not so much about making money to be honest, in fact it's probably the opposite as people tend to buy foils instead of complete new boards/sails! :-) so it's great for the consumer as he can add a lot of range to sailing time, without having to buy an extra sail/board etc. So that's good for the consumer for sure.
I personally don't really worry too much about board weights, regardless what I'm riding, as with proper trim and sail size, you can easily offset a slightly heavier board, but I know that it's a tricky subject for many customers- we are working hard on keeping weights at a minimum, but at the same time do not want to compromise on durability, which seems some other brands are not so worried about?
