Hi Fabien, it does depend a bit on sail size, but general settings:
- Put the foil 2 cm further fwd than the centre of the US boxes, you can adjust each time you ride to see which position you like best - backwards will be faster but more difficult to control. Fwd´s is better lift, slower, easier control.
- Mast foot, slightly back from the centre usually works best, keep your boom fairly low and push down on the boom if you feel the board is rising too much while up on the foil.
- Footstraps- we usually try to get beginners to use the outside inserts on the front straps, 2nd hole from the front. And then you can ride just with the front strap in the beginning, leave your back foot out of the strap until you feel comfortable. Then when you are ready for the back strap, use the inside set of straps first (second hole from the front). And then later if you feel more comfortable, use the outside straps (2nd hole from the front).
Best is also to just play around with different variations of the above, always try it on the same day to be sure you know what really made the difference, ie not one new setting each day...?
