Hi there . Oops, that is strange actually as you mention, many intermediate riders using these and at the place I sail often in summer, the centre has plenty of Gecko Ecos, with metal stairs and riders who don't always take 100% care..also the PowerBox system is built to actually break the screw out usually in hard impacts, saving the box. So that is a bit strange indeed. The box is the same on all boards, regardless of Eco or otherwise, it's a separate part that gets dropped into HRS, Eco, LTD, Team Editions, all different models. Seems you may have bad luck there or the impact was harder than you thought/perhaps it was from another time and not noticed, it's hard to say. But if the repair guy is well trusted then I would go with his advice to be safe - perhaps he can respray the area around the box White to match the rest of the graphics, better than having just the resin repairs etc. Sorry can't comment too much more on that, it does seem the only option?
