Ok so you've completely thrown a shiny spanner in the works for suggesting the Mamba84, from what I've just read this is definitely the board I should own but brand new I haven't bought a new one for 21 years and I still own that. I'd have to see if I could trade in 2 boards for 1, Lol!!!
I was originally thinking the Stubby82 as an onshore board but was thinking if it works for DTL it would end up being my one board quiver (but MAMBA84!) The truth is I could buy the Mamba but I'm also trying to buy a house and I'm older now I should buy the house (but Mamba84)
Thanks Craig for all your responses to all the forum posts I think it's pretty special that someone can take the time to respond to so many posts and really quickly so that is top marks for service and goes a long way when choosing to invest in a brand.
So next thing for me is to ride some boards back to back on a Windy day with waves in the UK when I'm not at work, I've got my work cut out there, Lol!!
To summarise:
The Grip looks good but I don't often get to DTL conditions maybe 30% of the time so probably leave this on the shelf.
The Stubby's would be a good option as I'm on a bit of a budget I think as I'm not too concerned with bogging out for the light days that the 82l would be the one to go for, Id be a bit concerned as I ride very light footed, not at all grunty, I surf very fluid light and cruisey, not one for hitting the section with force, the extra volume might be too much?
The Mamba is unknown to me and I don't like wasting peoples time but would love to try it out if my dealer would consider a trade in on 2 boards for 1?? If its the board for me probably the last board I buy for the next 4years so a good investment maybe?
The next stop is my local shop and a chat and again thanks Craig
