Hi there, great to hear re your daughter. So both of my kids, now 17/20, learnt on our Ripper, at about age 11/12 they then moved onto boards like the Gecko (120 and then 110/112) and from there onwards to the Blast (my daughter, 115) and my son onto a Skate. Of course the switch from the fairly wide Ripper or Young Gun, to a narrower or smaller board like a Blast takes a bit of adjustment. I would say try with the Blast 115 - should have enough volume for up hauling or slogging back when wind drops - and then narrower enough to have some fun. Super important for the kids is a light sails with as high carbon content for mast&boom, as well as sail trim and harness line length, proper harness and wetsuit - if you want to make the fun factor 100% - older windsurfers like ourselves can sometimes use pretty much anything, but when you are smaller like kids, then the stuff needs to work properly all the the time! good luck. As a second alternative, a FreeWave 95 or 105 is also good, but might be a bit too much of a jump at first?
