Hi Craig/fanatic team.
I just wanted to give you the heads up that I've had a rough time with the sky wing boards cracking where the deck Joins the rail.
First off it happened a couple of times with a 105 TE and again now with a 95 STD construction.
My current best guess is I think this sort of damage occurs when you fall to Windward and keep holding onto the boom of the slick or the solid handles of the unit. This might allow the boom/ handles to strike the board as it is you hit the water.
I've noticed on both boards this area where the deck meets the rail is very flimsy.. Quite a way off the construction used in on windsurfing boards like the blast or freewave.
I imagine similar impacts are possible any time you use a wing with solid handles or a boom. The easy solution is to let go of the wing when you fall but I think that might be even worse and could do even more damage to the wing.
Anyway, perhaps strengthening of the rail join is something to look at on the next model of sky wing. Hopefully by then ive stopped falling in the corners and this issue is behind me.
