GWindsurfing Hi Giles, 4.7 and 5.0 are great, as are 4.5/4.2/4.0 - the 3.7/3.4 of course will be the limit, but you are heavy/tall enough to handle that - would say absolute perfect range I like to use that board is 4.2-5.0, both sides of that it still works great, but is then reaching it's limits, as you would expect. 2022 see what you can find, 2023 expect launching mid September, bit of a delay to deliver so probably later September/early October....2023 are all new shapes, but can't comment on that yet - but 2022 are still very competitive, especially the 82 which has had by far the most R&D/Prototypes over the years.
Changing the FreeWave, let's talk when the new models drop, we may have something there in the new Grip range which could compliment the 82 as per above - but remember, a FreeWave is a hard act to beat on planing, speed, flat water and small wave performance. If you are only riding in the waves, need more waveriding ability, then the bigger Grips or Mambas are worth a look. Check back in 15.9 in case you decide to wait.
