I just received my new Falcon Foil 170 board. Had already 2-3 rides on it. The experience meanwhile is very good - the board is an amazing upgrade from my Stingray, I enjoy it a lot. Still learning to handle jibes as it behaves very differently ;-)
The main issue I have is that fin box is extremely tight for my Phantom foil mast. The box it uneven inside that doesn’t allow a full mast insert into it.
I am not able to set 3+ degrees for an angle with dedicate angle spacer. It is not a mast’s fin-box shaving issue. The mast is absolutely ok on my Stingray and any other board I tried before - there was no need to shave it with a sand-paper.
I do grease it and it helps a bit, but still, as fin box is not clean from assembly materials left from manufacturing, I can’t insert the mast till the end.
What would be your recommendation to sort this issue? I didn’t try any mechanical cleaning approach for a fin box trying not to damage its completeness. Will appreciate your advice. Thank you, Alex
