Considering a Gecko 122 or 135. I weigh 82 kg and currently using a Viper 150 with 5.7 sail on reservoir. Planing with 1-2 foot straps and harness in 25-ish knots, tacking, jibing inconsistently in 15-ish knots but unable in anything much higher. Not yet water-starting. There is a full rig sale on where I could get a 7.3 mast and associated bigger boom and sail with a Gecko. Would be happy to work harder on a less forgiving board rather than easy learning but having to move down a size in a year or so. I get out about 1 to 1.5 times per month. That said I do want to have fun. Would the 122 have versatility across 15-30 knots whereas the 122 would be more limited to 25+? Typical winds where I am range from 15-25 knots gusting to 30 on windier days, or may be 10-15 knots on less windy days. It also looks like HRS would be recommended to save nose damage as I learn to control myself in faster winds jibing? Thanks for any pointers.
