Small wave board to go with 85 freewave?

What is the right step down size from an 85 freewave when the chop and swell get up for 4.7-4.2 and the board starts feeling big.
Sideshore / side on ocean sailing. Bump and jump on the way out + a small wave ride at the end of the run on the way in.

Would you go to a grip 76? Comfortable speed is still a priority.

Hi M.H., what do you weight approx? I would actually go for the Grip 3 79L for the conditions you describe, since it is only a small wave rider at the end of the inside run/the Grip 3 79L will feel closer to your FreeWave in terms of speed/control, whilst the Grip 4 is made for riding waves as one of it's main priorities, especially in sideshore/DTL conditions -
