Light-air fin windsurf board for a lightweight?

Hi Craig! I'm an intermediate windsurfer (comfortably planing, waterstarting, completing about 20% of my planing jibe attempts). My question is about windsurf fin board recommendations for a lightweight (53 kg), for 10--15 mph wind, in the Chesapeake Bay where the wind is often light and often dies completely.

I've been learning windsurf foiling (on a 115L Stingray) and am working on stringing together 50--100m foil runs into longer distances. But if the wind picks up, I'd like to swap the foil board for a fin board. (Sails are Idol LTD 4.4 & 5.2, and 5.9 Freek).

I love my 2019 freewave stb 85L, but I seldom take it out except in OBX, because it's hard (but possible) to uphaul and slog home if the wind dies. So, I'm wondering if I should get a larger version freewave, maybe the 105L? Ideas welcome. It's often hard to figure out what gear is right for lightweight sailors. Thanks!

Hi there, my wife is using the FW95 here at Lake Garda, as the wind is quite light, she's a little lighter than you - generally found that to be a great board for 50-60kg people for lighter winds. But is quite close to your existing 85L, therefore I would almost say go for the 105, especially together with the 5.9 Freek - if your biggest sails was the 5.2, then the 95 would be ok, but a 5.9 is a touch too big for it/plus the 105 will give you the extra light wind advantage.
