Hi JeanMarie,
thanks for the confidence already in using our gear!
So the advantage of the Glide vs Free, is that the Glide foil stays up longer once you are going - which is nice for pumping, waves or tacks/gybes and manoeuvres. The feeling is also that you have more pressure under your front foot/more power, due to the higher aspect. In terms of tightness of turns, the Free will gybe/turn a bit tighter, is easier to change direction quickly. The Glide "feels" a bit faster due to the thinner profile, in reality both have a similar top end speed, just the Glide will keep on going thru lulls/on slower waves etc.
In terms of control, both are good, so it depends a little how over or underpowered you ride/local conditions? The Glide works very well on both Lakes and Waves, whereas the Free is a very good allrounder, but not as good in the waves as the Glide or the Carve range.
I tend to mix between the Free 1000 and the Glides in 725-1305 quite a bit, I have replaced the Aero Free 1250 (light wind machine!) with the Glide 1305 as the absolute light wind wing for winging for example. I don't use a 1750/2000 too often anymore, I prefer to use a slightly bigger wing (6.5 Unit D Lab for example, partnered with the 1305 = planing well below 10knots).
Feel free to ask more questions/give more feedback on your local conditions?
